Leadership Essentials

This level is ideal for people who are responsible for leading teams and groups, such as managers, supervisors, and team leaders. It is also suitable for individual contributors who are looking to build their people management skills and work effectively in teams.  

The Leadership Essentials course will increase awareness of your own management styles and provide you with skills in understanding and managing different team dynamics. 

You will better understand management styles and equip yourself with the necessary skills to manage diverse team dynamics effectively. The program also helps participants build confidence in conducting productive meetings and handling challenging conversations. 

This course is the second tier of a three-tier leadership program. Upon completing this course, participants can enrol in the High-Performance Site Management course. 

This is the second course in the Three Tier Leadership Program. It supersedes and is equivalent to the Leadership Essentials for Supervisors course.  

For learners coming from construction company graduate programs, we recommend the following training sequence of the Three Tier Leadership Program: 

  • Level 1 should be trained in the first few months of their graduate program. 
  • Level 2 should be trained 4-6 months after Level 1. 
  • Level 3 should be trained toward the end of their graduate program, when they have 1-2 years of experience as a site supervisor/similar.  

 For the best learning outcomes we recommend undertaking each course in the program in order, leaving yourself 6-9 months between each course to solidify your learning in your workplace. Enrolment into individual courses is also possible. 

 This is a simulation course held at the BLSC facility. This course is catered.
