Low Rise Structural Principles

This course is delivered and assessed by Master Builders Association of Victoria (RTO no 3935). On successful completion of all course requirements, including assessment and attendance, students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment by Master Builders Association of Victoria (RTO no 3935).

Course Overview

This course is suitable if you are a qualified tradesperson, registered builder, site manager, construction manager or other building professional involved in overseeing or managing the demolition or erection of low rise structures.

In this course you will learn how to interpret and apply the National Construction Code (NCC) to Class 1 and 10 buildings less than three storeys high, and Class 2 to 9 Type C buildings. You will also learn how to plan, coordinate and manage the construction of footings, floor systems, wall systems, roof systems and wall cladding. You will gain skills and knowledge on the following topics:

  • Access, interpret and apply relevant building codes and standards applicable to the NCC Classes 1 and 10 buildings and Class 2 to 9 Type C building projects, to a maximum of two storeys
  • Apply structural principles to the construction of residential or commercial structures
    This short course forms part of the CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building)
